Privacy notice

We collect only the limited technical information needed to deliver this website and understand its audience in aggregate. We do not sell visitor data, use it for advertising, or build individual profiles.

Who operates this site

This website is operated by the organizing team of the Representations for the Physical Sciences workshop at NeurIPS 2026. For privacy questions or requests, contact us at representations-physical-sciences@googlegroups.com.

Where the processing described below involves personal data, we rely on our legitimate interests in operating the website, keeping it reliable, and understanding its use at an aggregate level.

Audience measurement

GoatCounter

We use GoatCounter solely to produce aggregate website statistics, including visited pages, referring pages, approximate country, browser, operating system, language, and screen size. This helps us understand the workshop website’s audience and whether the site works well across different devices.

GoatCounter does not place cookies or other identifiers in your browser. In its aggregate configuration, it does not store IP addresses, full user-agent headers, or persistent tracking identifiers. To avoid counting repeated requests as separate visits, the site name, IP address, and user-agent are held temporarily in memory for up to eight hours and are not stored in the analytics database. GoatCounter states that analytics information is not shared with third parties.

GoatCounter is operated from Ireland, and its hosted service stores data on servers in Finland and Germany. Aggregate statistics are retained while our analytics account remains active. If the account is deleted, GoatCounter states that residual backups may be retained for up to 30 days.

See GoatCounter’s privacy documentation and its GDPR information.

External resources

Google Fonts

We use Google Fonts to display the Inter and Source Serif 4 typefaces. When your browser downloads these font files, it contacts fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com. The request includes the IP address needed to return the files, the requested URL, and ordinary HTTP headers such as browser and operating-system information and the referring page.

Google states that the Google Fonts Web API is unauthenticated, does not set or log cookies, and does not use information collected by Google Fonts to profile visitors or deliver targeted advertising. See the Google Fonts privacy FAQ and Google Privacy Policy.

jsDelivr

We load GSAP, the library used for the decorative animation on the home page, from the jsDelivr content-delivery network. Your browser therefore sends jsDelivr the IP address and ordinary HTTP request information needed to deliver that file. jsDelivr states that its public CDN does not store user data or track users; it may use file-download information to produce package-level download statistics.

See the jsDelivr Privacy Policy. jsDelivr uses third-party CDN infrastructure, including Cloudflare and Fastly, to deliver files globally.

GitHub Pages

This static website is hosted and delivered by GitHub Pages. GitHub may process standard connection and diagnostic information when serving the site under the GitHub General Privacy Statement.

Storage on your device

This website does not use advertising or analytics cookies. If you change the site’s light or dark color theme, the preference is saved in your browser’s local storage under the name rps-theme. It remains on your device, is used only to remember that setting, and is not sent to us.

Your choices and rights

You can prevent requests to external analytics, font, or CDN services using browser privacy controls or content-blocking software. The website’s core written content remains available, although its typography or decorative animation may change.

Because GoatCounter retains aggregate statistics without stored IP addresses or persistent identifiers, we generally cannot associate an analytics entry with an individual visitor. You may nevertheless contact the workshop organizers using the address above with any privacy question or request, or contact your competent data-protection authority.
